The Battle showcases the talent, independent practice and dedication of the Northwest Corner’s “garage bands”.

Net proceeds from the event benefit the programs and services of HYSB, a non-profit dedicated to supporting youth and families in Northwest Connecticut. The winners of the 2011 HYSB Battle of the Bands, took home $800 in cash prizes.  The winning band, Starcraft to Pluto, includes band members--all HVRHS students--Ben Paley on guitar, Van Daalhuyzen on bass, Dylan Vadakin on drums, and Michael Kenny on vocals.
