                            Outdoor Leadership Program

Offered 6 times a year, the HYSB Outdoor Leadership Program is an adventure based opportunity for boys and girls in the grades 6 through 8.  Our supervised, independent and team-based challenges strengthen participants' self esteem, coping skills, communication strategies, self awareness and problem solving skills.

Imagine the empowerment your child will feel after they successfully navigate a high-ropes course in the trees, or conquer a day-long hike, or learn how to navigate with a map and compass.

The courses offered through the program will arm your child with new skills, offer opportunities to make new friends, and develop their social and environmental awareness.  Offered at the beautiful Silver Lake Conference Center in Sharon, a fully certified program by the State Youth Licensing Bureau, your child will be instructed by safety conscious, technically competent, and highly trained leaders.   The program's instructors not only have substantial practical experience, they are technically skilled, passionate about wilderness, and passionately committed to each and every student.  Instructors are trained at managing risk and teaching the technical skills required for your child to safely engage in each and every experience.

Group size is one of the most important factors affecting the type of experience your child will have in the HYSB Outdoor Leadership Program. Smaller group sizes offer  flexibility to better provide individual attention for each participant.  For this reason, we strive to keep our groups small, with only 10 - 15 students at a time.
